We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the success of our commercial construction projects of 5 TO 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN NYC
This pivotal role combines precise cost estimation with effective project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will be passionate about construction, possess strong technical skills, and excel in client communication. Your expertise will help us secure new business opportunities while managing ongoing projects seamlessly from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive project estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Analyze material requirements, labor costs, subcontractor bids, and equipment needs to develop detailed project budgets.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable pricing and terms that align with project goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously by coordinating schedules, tracking progress, and controlling costs through construction management software.
- Review construction drawings thoroughly to identify potential issues or cost-saving opportunities early in the planning process.
- Oversee cost management activities including cost control, material cost estimating, and budget adjustments throughout project lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clarity on project scope, timelines, and budget expectations.
- Lead project meetings to monitor progress, address challenges promptly, and ensure adherence to safety standards and quality benchmarks.
Experience
- Proven experience managing construction estimates for commercial projects with a strong background in construction industry practices.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately for estimating purposes.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent tools like Bluebeam; experience with Xactimate is a plus.
- Strong skills in negotiation, client communication, and managing project budgets from initial estimate through completion.
- Hands-on construction site experience that enhances understanding of field operations and material requirements.
- Familiarity with construction management software platforms for scheduling, tracking costs, and document control.
- Knowledge of construction drawing review processes combined with expertise in cost control strategies for large-scale projects.
