American Custom Metal Fabricating (ACMF) is looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our growing manufacturing team.
If you take pride in precision, craftsmanship, and building quality products from raw metal, we want to hear from you. At ACMF, you’ll work on custom and complex fabrication projects for commercial and industrial customers across the United States.
Our team works with Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel and utilizes modern manufacturing technology, including tube lasers, robotic welding systems, CNC equipment, large bridge cranes, and advanced fabrication equipment.
This is an opportunity for a skilled fabricator who enjoys hands-on work, solving fabrication challenges, and seeing a project come together from layout and cutting through welding and finishing.

What You'll Do
As a Metal Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding components according to customer drawings, specifications, and production requirements while maintaining high standards for quality, craftsmanship, and safety.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, sketches, routings, and product specifications.
- Perform custom metal fabrication for commercial and industrial applications.
- Fabricate components and assemblies from Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel.
- Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding.
- Prepare, fit, weld, and finish metal components according to specifications.
- Set up welding equipment and determine appropriate welding parameters, including amperage, voltage, and related settings.
- Perform accurate layout and measurement of materials and components.
- Cut, saw, bend, fit, and prepare materials for fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform grinding, blending, and detailed finishing to achieve the required appearance and specifications.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Operate industrial forklifts and overhead cranes as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and on-time delivery requirements.
- Identify quality issues or potential problems and communicate them to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
- Work independently while also contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a skilled and dependable fabricator who understands that quality starts with accurate layout and preparation and continues through welding, finishing, and final inspection.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in metal fabrication or a related manufacturing environment.
- Strong MIG and TIG welding skills.
- Working knowledge of welding setup and parameters, including amps and volts.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.
- Strong layout and measurement skills.
- Knowledge of fixturing and weld setup.
- Experience working with Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and Mild Steel.
- Proficiency with hand tools and fabrication equipment.
- Experience with cutting, sawing, bending, grinding, and detailed finishing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good hand dexterity, strength, and coordination.
- Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
