Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Custom Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw metal materials into precisely fabricated components and assemblies that meet detailed specifications and quality standards. Your expertise in welding, cutting, measuring, and interpreting technical drawings will be essential to delivering exceptional craftsmanship on every project. Duties

Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate production of metal components
Operate various fabrication tools including plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts
Perform welding using multiple techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and stick welding in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards
Measure and mark metal materials with precision using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure exact dimensions
Use rigging and pipe threading techniques for assembly and installation of fabricated structures or components
Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all fabrication activities, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of machinery
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and calibrated for optimal performance

Qualifications

Proven construction site experience or background in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW), plasma cutters, and machining tools
Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices
Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, rigging, and assembly processes
Ability to read blueprints thoroughly and perform shop math calculations confidently
Knowledge of safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards for fabrication shops and construction sites
Certification or experience in welding techniques such as gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), or TIG welding is highly desirable
Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a plus
Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality output in fast-paced settings
