Hi, I’m Shane, and I’m the CEO of Vision Flooring. I’m glad you’re here!
I started Vision Flooring with a commitment to serve our community and build a flooring company that people trust. Today, we’re proud to be Arizona’s highest-rated flooring provider with over 800 5-star reviews, and we’re just getting started.
Our vision is to become Arizona’s biggest and most trusted flooring company. We’re growing quickly, looking toward expansion into multiple locations, and we know that growth only works if the people behind the scenes can execute at a high level.
Right now, we’re looking for an exceptional Project Manager to take ownership of our projects from the moment installation is approaching until the job is 100% complete.
And for the right person, we see this as much more than a Project Manager position.
We expect this role to be a proving ground for our next Operations Manager. Someone who demonstrates leadership, ownership, strong communication, and consistent results could have the opportunity to move into that role within 6–12 months as Vision Flooring continues to grow.
If you’re hungry for responsibility, want to build something instead of simply maintaining it, and are looking for a company where strong performance can create real career advancement, keep reading.
Why This Role is for You:
You’re the kind of person who sees a problem and starts figuring out how to solve it.
You don't wait for someone else to take ownership.
You like being in the middle of the action—working with customers, installers, our warehouse team, and the rest of our operations staff to make sure projects move forward.
You also understand that great operators use technology to make themselves and their teams better. You’re comfortable on a computer, quick to learn new software, and interested in using tools like AI, automation, and modern business systems to solve problems faster and build better processes.
This is not a sit-at-a-desk-and-update-a-spreadsheet Project Manager position.
You’ll be on the move, visiting projects, solving problems, coaching installers, coordinating materials, communicating with customers, and constantly looking for ways to make our operation better.
Your job is simple to describe, even if it isn't always simple to execute:
Own the production and customer experience from job start to job complete.
You Should Apply If:
- You’re highly organized and naturally keep track of a lot of moving pieces.
- Communication is one of your strongest skills.
- You take ownership instead of waiting for someone else to solve the problem.
- You’re results-oriented and enjoy finding solutions when things don’t go according to plan.
- You’re comfortable having difficult conversations when accountability is needed.
- You genuinely care about delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- You enjoy coaching people and helping a team improve.
- You have a growth mindset and actively look for better ways to do things.
- You’re hungry to grow professionally and want increasing levels of responsibility.
- You’re humble enough to learn, smart enough to understand people, and driven enough to execute.
- You enjoy a fast-moving environment where every day won't look exactly the same.
- You want to help build systems and processes, not simply follow the ones that already exist.
You Shouldn’t Apply If:
- You would rather work with your hands than with technology or people.
- You tend to blame other people when something goes wrong.
- You let problems sit and hope they resolve themselves.
- You avoid difficult conversations with customers or team members.
- You need someone constantly telling you what to do next.
- You struggle with organization or following through on commitments.
- You get overwhelmed when several problems need your attention at the same time.
- You don’t enjoy working with customers.
- You’re uncomfortable holding installers and team members accountable.
- You prefer maintaining the status quo over improving systems.
- You’re looking for a job where you can stay comfortably inside one narrowly defined lane.
- Growing pains frustrate you. We are building and scaling this company, which means there will be things we need your help improving.
The Job:
As a Project Manager, you’ll own projects from several days before installation begins until the customer’s job is completely finished.
You’ll:
- Review upcoming projects and make sure we have everything needed to execute them successfully.
- Verify that the correct installers are assigned based on the product, project requirements, and scope of work.
- Confirm installers have the materials, information, diagrams, supplies, and other resources they need before arriving at the job.
- Strategize how materials need to move between vendors, the warehouse, installers, and job sites.
- Visit active jobs and stay connected with installers throughout installation.
- Communicate directly with customers throughout the production process.
- Handle job-site problems, customer concerns, complaints, and change orders.
- Perform final walkthroughs when needed.
- Review our outstanding project list every day and aggressively move unresolved jobs toward completion.
- Hold installers accountable for workmanship, communication, documentation, cleanliness, and customer experience.
- Coach and develop our installation teams.
- Help recruit and grow our installer network as the company expands.
- Coordinate closely with our Warehouse Manager, Installation Coordinator, sales team, and leadership.
- Protect project profitability by identifying problems early and reducing unnecessary labor, material, and callback costs.
- Document recurring problems and help build processes that prevent them from happening again.
- Help create greater consistency across every Vision Flooring installation.
- Ultimately ensure that projects move efficiently from installation → completion → happy customer.
What Success Looks Like:
We don't want someone who simply keeps the wheels turning.
We want someone who makes the operation better.
Success in this role means:
- Jobs start on time and properly prepared.
- Installers consistently have what they need.
- Installation problems decrease.
- Outstanding projects don't sit unresolved.
- Customers stay informed and feel taken care of.
- Installers are held accountable and continually improving.
- Our installer network gets stronger as the company grows.
- Gross margins are protected.
- Problems become documented processes instead of repeated headaches.
- The production team becomes more consistent, predictable, and scalable.
Do those things exceptionally well, and there is a much bigger opportunity ahead.
Growth Opportunity – Operations Manager
Vision Flooring is preparing for substantial growth over the next several years, including the potential for multiple locations.
As we grow, we need someone who can ultimately take ownership of the entire operational side of the business.
For the right person, we see a potential path from Project Manager to Operations Manager within approximately 6–12 months.
That future role would oversee areas including:
- Project Management
- Installation Coordination
- Warehouse Operations
- Production
- Installer Management and Development
- Operational Processes and Accountability
This is not an automatic promotion based on tenure.
It is an opportunity to earn the seat through results.
We’re looking for someone who wants that challenge.
Requirements:
- Exceptional Communication Skills: You’ll work directly with customers, installers, salespeople, warehouse staff, and leadership. Clear communication is critical.
- Highly Organized: You must be able to manage multiple active projects, priorities, and problems without losing track of details.
- Problem Solver: When something goes sideways, we need someone who moves toward the problem and finds a solution.
- Leadership Ability: Comfortable coaching, developing, and holding installers accountable.
- Customer Focused: Able to professionally navigate difficult conversations while protecting the customer experience.
- Strong Computer Literacy: This is a must. You should be comfortable working across multiple software platforms, learning new tools quickly, and using technology confidently throughout your day.
- AI Fluency: You do not need to be an AI expert, but you should have a basic working knowledge of modern AI tools and a genuine willingness to learn how to leverage them deeply in your role.
- Technology Mindset: We want someone who asks, “How can we make this process better?” and is willing to use automation, software, and new technology to help answer that question.
- Construction Knowledge: You should understand the basics of working in and around residential construction projects.
- Physically Capable: Comfortable visiting job sites, walking projects, bending, lifting, and occasionally assisting with materials when necessary.
- Reliable Transportation Requirements: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Background Check: Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
Flooring experience is helpful, but it is not required. We would rather hire an exceptional leader and problem solver and teach them flooring than hire flooring experience without the right attitude.
Perks, Pay, and Other Good Stuff:
- Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Performance Incentives: Additional bonus opportunities based on results and performance.
- Career Advancement: Legitimate opportunity to grow into an Operations Manager role as the company expands.
- Operations Manager Earning Potential: Our Operations Manager position is expected to be a six-figure leadership role with additional incentive opportunities.
- Company Vehicle: This is an on-the-go role, and you'll have a company vehicle for work-related travel.
- Company Gas Card: We cover your company vehicle fuel.
- Company Tablet: Tools provided to stay connected and manage projects in the field.
- Unlimited PTO: We trust our team to manage their responsibilities and their time.
- Professional Development Assistance: We invest in our leaders and routinely attend seminars and leadership conferences as a team.
- Growing Company: Opportunity to help build the systems, teams, and processes that will support Vision Flooring's next stage of growth.
Schedule:
Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday.
Typical hours are approximately 7:30 AM–3:30/4:00 PM, depending on project needs.
Occasional Saturday involvement can happen when a project requires it, but it is uncommon—typically only a handful of times per year.
Work Location: Primarily based out of Chandler, AZ, with regular travel to customer job sites throughout the Phoenix metro area.
If you’re looking for a comfortable position where you can simply maintain someone else's system, this probably isn't the job for you.
But if you want ownership, responsibility, the ability to solve meaningful problems, and the opportunity to grow into leadership as the company scales, we'd love to meet you.
Vision Flooring is building toward something much bigger, and we're looking for the person who can help us build the operational engine behind it.
