Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems in residential and commercial settings.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and HVAC design plans to ensure precise installation and maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend lifespan.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units using tools like ohmmeters.
- Repair mechanical systems such as pumps, fans, valves, and refrigeration components with hand tools and specialized equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, repair needs, and maintenance tips clearly to clients.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and installation.
- Service technician experience working with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and building automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues including ammonia refrigeration or boilers is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively along with diagnostic instruments like ohmmeters for electrical testing.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications related to HVAC/R are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver is a plus.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments across various property types.

Pay: $28.00 - $39.00 per hour
