Dave's Sheet Metal (DSM) is a roofing metals manufacturer based in Dracut, MA, specializing in roof edge metal, custom flashing, coping, and custom sheet metal fabrication. We supply major roofing distributors across New England and are known for fast turnaround, consistent service, and precision fabrication.
Position Summary
We're looking for a part-time shop employee/fabricator to support our production team. This is a hands-on role fabricating sheet metal products: bending, cutting, and forming roof edge trim, flashing, and related architectural metal components to spec.
Key Responsibilities
- · Operate CNC brake and shears to fabricate roof edge trim, flashing, and coping to spec
- · Read and follow shop orders and cut sheets accurately
- · Measure, mark, cut, and form sheet metal parts to tight tolerances
- · Check finished pieces for quality before packaging
- · Package, label, and stage finished goods for shipment or pickup
- · Handle incoming coil and sheet stock (loading, unloading, and organizing material)
- · Keep the shop and material storage areas clean and safe
- · Support senior fabricators and shop leadership with general production tasks
Qualifications
- · Prior experience with sheet metal, metal fabrication, or a related trade (brakes, shears) preferred. We're willing to train the right candidate
- · Comfortable with a tape measure and basic cut sheets/blueprints
- · Mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, good hand-eye coordination
- · Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet in a shop environment
- · Reliable and punctual; works well independently and as part of a small team
- · Forklift experience and certification are a plus, but not required
- · Prior roofing industry experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20–25 hours/week; days/hours flexible, with full-time eventually available. Benefits available with full-time employment.
Location
Dracut, MA (on-site)
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
