Commercial / Industrial Refrigeration Technician – Manufacturing
First Shift | No Residential Service Calls | $45–$55/Hour
Seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to work on13cbf lines to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain refrigeration systems in a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong hands-on refrigeration experience, brazing skills, electrical troubleshooting ability, and the ability to independently diagnose system failures.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair refrigeration systems, including:
- Compressors
- Condensers
- Evaporators
- Expansion valves
- Refrigeration controls
- Perform brazing and soldering on refrigeration piping and components.
- Perform system evacuation, leak detection, pressure testing, and refrigerant charging.
- Read and interpret:
- Refrigeration schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Blueprints
- Technical manuals
- Troubleshoot and repair low- and line-voltage electrical systems, including:
- Contactors
- Relays
- Sensors
- Controls
- Wiring
- Use gauges, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify refrigeration and electrical problems.
- Support mechanical assembly, equipment repair, and rework when needed.
- Document repairs, root causes, parts used, and corrective actions.
- Work with engineering and production teams to identify recurring equipment failures and recommend improvements.
- Follow established safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on refrigeration service and repair experience
- Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Strong brazing experience
- Experience with system evacuation, leak detection, and refrigerant charging
- Ability to independently diagnose refrigeration and electrical faults
- Ability to read refrigeration schematics and electrical wiring diagrams
- Experience using gauges, multimeters, and refrigeration diagnostic tools
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
- HVAC/R technical school or trade certification
- Manufacturing, industrial, or equipment-build experience
- Environmental test chamber experience
- Cascade refrigeration experience
- Ultra-low-temperature refrigeration experience
- PLC or controller-based equipment experience
