Haartz has two positions open to join our Facility Maintenance team including a 2nd shift Electrician working from Monday through Friday, 1:00pm - 11:00pm and a 3rd shift Electrician, Monday through Friday, 8:30pm - 6:30am. Both positions report to the Controls Manager in the Plant Engineering department. This position’s primary responsibilities include installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. This position is full-time, base pay includes a 10% shift differential for 2nd shift and a 15% shift differential for 3rd shift shown in the posted pay range, overtime is paid after 8 hours and is on-site in Acton, MA.
Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to problem solve and make decisions with minimal supervision. They will have strong troubleshooting skills and be detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. A strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to work in a team environment are a must!
Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Install control level wiring and electrical conduit for work orders and projects to repair or upgrade production machines and other equipment.
· Terminate power and control wiring to machines and equipment based on electrical drawings.
· Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical & control systems including PLC and I/O based systems, AC & DC drives, load cell and isolation amplifiers, transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
· Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers and plant personnel to diagnose problems.
· Replace faulty electrical components on equipment such as relays, amplifiers, motors, drives, position sensors, and other control devices.
· Assist mechanical personnel when additional resources are needed.
· Travel between the Hayward Road and Craig Road facilities in Acton.
Skills and Qualifications
· Required
o Minimum of a MA Journeyman’s License.
o Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as an Industrial Electrician.
o Ability to troubleshoot PLC control systems.
o Strong troubleshooting skills.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Preferred
o Experience working in Manufacturing or similar industry strongly preferred.
o Ability to read electrical prints.
