Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal with precision and efficiency. Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper machine settings and tooling configurations
- Measure finished parts using precision measurement instruments to verify conformance with quality standards
- Adjust machine parameters for optimal performance, maintaining safety protocols at all times
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of press brake equipment to maximize uptime
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving sheet metal forming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other forming machines
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process, ensuring parts meet specified tolerances and standards
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Skilled in using measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control
- Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills necessary for machining adjustments and measurements
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during machine operation
- Ability to set up machining tools, tooling, and fixtures efficiently for sheet metal fabrication tasks
- Experience with welding, assembly processes, hand tools, tooling management, and fabrication techniques is a plus
