Job Overview
Holland Sharpe is seeking experienced Millwrights/Welders for a project in Jackson, TN.
Candidates will perform a combination of industrial mechanical installation, welding, fabrication, equipment positioning, and related construction duties. Piping experience may also be beneficial for certain phases of the project.
This is a fast-paced industrial project requiring flexibility, extended shifts, and availability to work weekends. Qualified candidates may have the opportunity to transition to an additional project following completion of the initial phase.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, dismantle, and position industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Perform welding, fitting, cutting, and fabrication as required by the project.
- Assist with the installation of a new industrial aluminum melter from the ground up.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications.
- Align, level, and position equipment and mechanical components.
- Assist with rigging, lifting, and moving heavy industrial equipment.
- Support piping installation and related mechanical work when qualified.
- Prepare materials and components through cutting, grinding, fitting, and other fabrication processes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and customer-site requirements.
- Coordinate with other trades and supervisors to complete work safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in millwright work, industrial mechanical installation, welding, or fabrication.
- Ability to perform mechanical installation and welding duties.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with industrial tools, welding equipment, and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience with rigging, equipment installation, or industrial construction is beneficial.
- Piping experience is a plus for certain project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work extended shifts, weekends, and a 7-day schedule as required.
Work Environment
This position involves working in an industrial and manufacturing facility. Employees should be comfortable working around heavy machinery, welding operations, industrial equipment, noise, dust, and heat while following all required safety procedures.
