Master Electrician – Solar Installation & Service

Champion Solar | Minnesota City, MN | Full-time | $48-58 an hour | Traveling Required

About Champion Solar

Champion Solar is a family-owned solar company that has served Minnesota since 2009. At Champion Solar we design, install, commission and service solar systems for residential, commercial and roofing customers. Along with installing EV chargers, batteries and smart panels.

Our mission is to make a lasting impact on the environment and the economy by delivering 5-star solar solutions, with a culture built on honesty, reliability and environmental stewardship.

The Role

We are looking for a Licensed Master Electrician, the master of record, behind our installs and service work across Minnesota. Every array you energize stays in service for decades on homes, farms and businesses throughout Minnesota. We’re looking for someone who loves to build and wants their name on their work. Someone who will drive past their work with pride for years to come.

What You’ll Do

Lead installs from start to finish. Install, terminate, test and commission PV systems, inverters, batteries, EV chargers and service upgrades in compliance with the NEC and Minnesota code.
Own the quality. Do the inspections, interconnects and project close-out, and walk the work with the Solar Designer at debrief.
Troubleshoot and service. Diagnose, repair and do preventive maintenance on existing systems for new and returning customers.
Work from the plans. Read design packets, schematics and blueprints, run load calculations, and flag design issues before they become field issues.
Run the site safely. Assess hazards as you go, catch code violations early, and keep the crew and the customer safe.
Develop the crew. Mentor apprentices and electricians so that safety and quality standards are met on every job.
Leave no trace. Be on time and leave every customer’s property cleaner than you found it.
Document the work. Keep accurate records of hours, materials, tasks and system details.
