G.W. Savage Corp., a locally owned Vermont property restoration company, is hiring an experienced carpenter to help rebuild homes and commercial properties after fire, water, and other property damage.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong carpentry skills, takes ownership of their work, and communicates well with customers and coworkers. You should be comfortable handling assigned work from start to finish and producing quality results.
A minimum of five years of hands-on carpentry experience is required.
What You’ll Do
- Complete residential and commercial repair and reconstruction work.
- Perform framing, trim work, door and window installation, cabinet installation, and other carpentry tasks.
- Read scopes of work, take accurate measurements, and identify materials needed.
- Work independently and alongside project managers, other carpenters, and subcontractors.
- Keep jobs organized, protect customers’ property, and maintain clean, safe work areas.
- Communicate job progress, material needs, and unexpected conditions promptly.
- Deliver quality workmanship while meeting project schedules.
What We’re Looking For
- At least five years of professional carpentry experience.
- Strong rough and finish carpentry skills.
- Experience with remodeling, repairs, or reconstruction.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Dependability, organization, and attention to detail.
- A professional, respectful approach with customers and team members.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
Experience repairing fire- and water-damaged properties is a plus.
