Position Summary
We are seeking a Residential Service Electrician with at least three (3) years of residential electrical experience. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting electrical issues, and managing service calls from start to finish.
The right candidate will be capable of operating a company service van, communicating effectively with homeowners, and completing work safely, efficiently, and to code.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential service calls independently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose problems.
- Install, repair, and replace electrical equipment and devices.
- Perform panel upgrades, service changes, lighting installations, receptacle and switch replacements, ceiling fans, dedicated circuits, EV chargers, generators, and other residential electrical work.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain repair options.
- Complete digital work orders, notes, and take photos.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company service vehicle.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical codes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of residential electrical experience.
- Comfortable working independently in customers' homes.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems without direct supervision.
- Experience running a service van and managing daily service calls.
- Strong understanding of the NEC and residential wiring methods.
- Ability to read basic electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Able to lift 50+ pounds and work in attics, crawlspaces, and ladders as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tennessee Limited Licensed Electrician (LLE) or Journeyman license (preferred but not required).
- Generator, service upgrade, or panel replacement experience.
- Experience using digital estimating or service software such as Housecall Pro.
