Are you a skilled metal fabrication professional with strong CAD experience? We're looking for a detail-oriented Sheet Metal Layout Technician who can transform customer drawings into efficient, production-ready manufacturing plans. This role is ideal for someone who understands both the technical side of CAD design and the practical realities of metal fabrication.

Key Qualifications

✅ Minimum 3 years of hands-on metal fabrication experience

✅ Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs

✅ Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, blueprints, and CAD files

✅ Experience with sheet metal and plate fabrication, including forming and bend allowances

✅ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and fabrication workflows

What You'll Do

Review and interpret customer drawings, prints, and CAD files.
Create accurate CAD drawings and models for fabrication and production.
Develop sheet metal layouts, flat patterns, and manufacturing documentation.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and project management teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
Optimize layouts and processes to improve efficiency and reduce material waste.
Compile complete fabrication packages, including material layouts, assembly details, and equipment programming.
Generate material requisitions and coordinate with purchasing when needed.
Maintain organized documentation and provide updated material and cost information.

Why Join This Opportunity?

This is more than a drafting position. You'll play a critical role in determining how products are manufactured, using your CAD expertise and metal fabrication experience to support projects from concept through production. If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges, improving processes, and working closely with both engineering and shop-floor teams, this could be a great fit.

Candidates must have strong CAD software experience and at least 3 years of metal fabrication experience to be considered.
