QA/QC Project Coordinator (CWI) — Fort Worth, TX
Pay: $40/hour
About the Role
We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to serve as a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Project Coordinator on a mechanical project in Fort Worth, TX. This person will own project quality from installation through start-up, with direct responsibility for the project's weld program.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre- and post-installation quality checks for sheet metal, piping, and plumbing systems
- Support start-up and commissioning of mechanical equipment
- Maintain project records and handle distribution of quality documentation
- Run the project's weld tracking program, including:
- Inspecting welds to applicable codes and project specifications
- Certifying/qualifying welders for the project
- Logging and reporting all weld inspection and welder qualification results
Qualifications
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification — required
- Experience in mechanical QA/QC, including piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems
- Working knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards
- Experience with welder qualification testing, weld tracking, and inspection documentation
- Strong record-keeping and communication skills; able to coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and inspectors
