Generator Electrician – Power Generation (Shop-Based)

Job Summary

Taylor Sudden Service is hiring a Generator Electrician to work on industrial diesel and natural gas power generation equipment in a shop-based environment.

This role focuses on electrical diagnostics, generator controls, and alternator work.

Not a residential or commercial construction electrician role.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical issues on generators
Install and troubleshoot generator control systems (Deep Sea, DEIF, ComAp, Basler)
Perform alternator wiring, testing, and repairs
Read wiring diagrams and schematics
Support generator builds, refurbishments, and upgrades
Conduct load bank testing and system checks
Maintain service records and documentation
Follow all safety procedures (NFPA 70E / LOTO)

Qualifications Required:

5+ years of industrial electrical or generator experience
Experience working on diesel and/or natural gas generators
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently in a shop environment

Preferred:

Experience with generator control systems
Paralleling systems and load bank testing experience
Background in rental power, heavy equipment, or industrial environments

Pay

$30–$34/hr – Mid-level electricians with generator experience
$35–$42/hr – Senior electricians with controls & diagnostics expertise
