Mechanical Pipe Welders: make up to $47/hr on year-round commercial projects
Join one of the region’s most respected mechanical contractors. This is true field work—chilled water, steam, hydronic, and process piping up to 36”, with no structural or shop-only welding.
You’ll weld in hospitals, school, federal buildings, and large facilities alongside long-tenured teams.

What You’ll Work On
- Commercial mechanical systems: chilled water, steam, hydronic, process piping
- Steel & copper pipe installations, 2”–36”
- Weld processes: SMAW, GTAW/TIG, MIG/GMAW, FCAW
- Full field execution — no prefab shop roles
- All systems pressure-tested for quality and integrity
Daily Environment
- Typical schedule: 6 AM–3 PM (DC sites often start at 7 AM)
- Steady overtime and weekend availability
- Work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, tunnels, elevated and confined spaces
- Travel limited to ~50 miles from DC — no overnight travel
Required Experience
- 3+ years pipe welding experience (5+ preferred)
- Proven ability to pass a 6G pipe test on first attempt
- Strong blueprint/spool reading skills and independent work ability
- Reliable work history (no job-hopping)
- Valid driver’s license and basic hand tools
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits
- $32–$47/hr + bonuses
