Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fiber Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining fiber laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality precision components. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings. The Fiber Laser Operator plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing efficiency, safety, and product quality in a fast-paced production environment.
Duties
- Set up and operate fiber laser cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Interpret and review detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cutting parameters.
- Program CNC laser cutting machines using CNC programming skills to achieve desired cuts and shapes.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Handle sheet metal and other raw materials safely using forklifts, cranes, or hand tools as needed.
- Assist with fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, welding, machining (CNC milling, lathe), stamping press operations, and electrical discharge machining when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating fiber laser cutting machines; CNC laser cutting experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and machining processes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication tools such as press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, stamping presses, welding equipment, and tooling setups.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments safely.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques and quality inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, and assembly processes is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
