Job Description: We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in setting and operating CNC machines, fabricating and assembling custom fixtures and dies, and ensuring parts meet engineering drawing specifications.
Company Background: Toolmax Aerospace, Inc., located in Ashford, CT, is a growing family-owned tooling and manufacturing company that primarily services the aerospace industry. We hold both AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications and have various manufacturing capabilities, including: tooling design and fabrication, sheet metal forming and stamping, and both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines
- Interpret engineering blueprints to machine custom dies and fixtures
- Use various machining equipment for tool fabrication, including: lathes, surface grinders, band saws, deburr wheels, and Bridgeports
- Perform quality inspection to verify conformance using calipers, micrometers, height stands, gauge pins, etc.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist
- Excellent in reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience in using measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal team
- MasterCam, G+M Code, or Prototrak Programming is a plus
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100, ISO9001, and industry-specific requirements is a plus
