Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Water Jet Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will operate advanced plasma water jet cutting equipment to precisely cut and shape sheet metal and other materials, ensuring high-quality outputs for various fabrication projects. Duties

Set up and operate plasma water jet cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment for each project
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine cutting parameters and tooling requirements
Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems for complex cuts, utilizing CAD/CAM software when necessary
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma water jet equipment to maximize operational efficiency
Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and safety equipment before starting each job
Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, including sheet metal handling, assembly, and finishing processes

Qualifications

Proven experience operating plasma cutting machines or similar CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing setting
Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in CNC programming, laser cutting, welding, and fabrication techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings accurately
Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
Knowledge of safety procedures related to machining operations including crane operation and tool handling
Basic math skills for calculating measurements, material requirements, and machine settings
Experience with additional manufacturing equipment such as CNC milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM), sheet metal tools, and tooling management is a plus
Valid certification or experience in forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory
