The Michigan Milk Producers Association is a dairy farmer owned cooperative and dairy processor. Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.

MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. MMPA has five member owned processing plants in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio, including Superior Dairy and the Middlebury Cheese Company. Products made at MMPA’s plants include fluid milk, cheese, ultrafiltered milk, cottage cheese, ice cream, butter, nonfat dry milk, cream and condensed skim milk.

MMPA is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians who will focus on maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of our production equipment and facilities. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing production systems, installing pumps and valves, and maintaining control circuits. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using a variety of tools. A strong commitment to safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and collaboration with team members and managers to achieve annual objectives is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold Food SafetyWork safely and be organizedResponsible for the repair and maintenance of production machinery & equipment, physical plant, utilities & grounds in accordance with company policies & proceduresTroubleshooting and repair of the plant production systems.Repair and install sanitary type pumps and valves.Repair and maintenance of 24vdc control circuits.Complete projects in timely mannerLift up to 50 poundsBe able to climb and work safely at heightsWork with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentFollow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Chemical Safety Procedures.Perform any tasks necessary to ensure a Safe Quality Food product is produced.Perform any and all related duties as may be required or necessary.Work with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager to meet annual goals of production, maintenance repair goals, special projects and any jobs deemed necessary.All other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of P&ID drawings within an industrial environment and the ability to use them as a troubleshooting tool.Ability to troubleshoot digital and analog instrumentation and analog controlled process valving. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot 24vdc control circuit using electrical drawings and testing equipment.Experience with PLC controlled equipment and the ability to interpret control logic as a troubleshooting tool.Experience with the maintenance of high-pressure boiler systems is desired. Experience with the maintenance of Wastewater treatment systems is desired. Experience with Ammonia refrigeration is desired.Basic knowledge of personal computer-based equipmentAbility to work with little or no supervision.Ability to work and communicate verbally, in writing, via phone or radio effectively with a variety of individuals.Detail-oriented with ability to multi-taskTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.
