Daily Responsibilities — Apprentice / Journeyman Plumber
As part of our plumbing team, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals handling a variety of residential and light commercial plumbing projects. No two days are exactly the same, but typical responsibilities include:
- Assisting with and performing plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance
- Diagnosing plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, low water pressure, and faulty fixtures
- Installing and repairing water heaters, toilets, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, and piping systems
- Performing drain cleaning and basic sewer line work
- Measuring, cutting, threading, and assembling pipe materials
- Reading work orders and communicating clearly with customers about services performed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Loading and unloading tools, materials, and equipment
- Following safety procedures and local plumbing codes
- Completing paperwork, service notes, and job documentation when required
For Apprentices:
You’ll primarily assist senior plumbers, learn hands-on skills, and gradually take on more responsibility as your experience grows.
For Journeymen:
You’ll be expected to independently diagnose issues, perform repairs, manage job timelines, and ensure quality workmanship while mentoring apprentices when needed.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
- Morning dispatch / job assignments
- Travel to residential or commercial job sites
- Perform inspections, repairs, or installations
- Communicate with customers and team members
- Pick up materials if needed
- Complete paperwork and prepare for the next day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 80 per week
Work Location: In person
