What You Will Do
This role is Ideal for HVAC professionals looking to transition into an e-commerce sales environment, and best suited for someone who enjoys a steady flow of requests and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
A typical day includes:
- Answer inbound phone calls from contractors and technicians
- Take down customer requests and gather key details (model numbers, specs, application)
- Identify HVAC equipment and replacement parts
- Answer technical product and application questions using multiple sources: manufacturer literature, internet searches, AI, local reps, factory tech support
- Confirm pricing, availability, and lead times with manufacturers
- Generate and send accurate customer quotes
- Follow up on open quotes to move orders forward
- Manage multiple open requests using internal systems and dashboards
- Document solutions and product knowledge for future use
- Flag product or content issues to improve website accuracy
Working with Complex Products
NorthStock supports both standard and made-to-order / configured equipment, including technical applications (e.g., electric duct heaters, explosion-proof equipment).
In this role, you will:
- Handle most requests independently
- Recognize when a request requires deeper technical review
- Escalate complex applications internally for verification

Required Experience
- 2–5+ years in HVAC, mechanical trades, or industrial equipment
- Experience identifying or quoting equipment and replacement parts
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with multiple systems (ERP, CRM, spreadsheets)
- Strong phone and written communication skills
Preferred Backgrounds
- HVAC distributor counter or inside sales
- HVAC service technician
- Manufacturer inside sales / technical support
- Mechanical equipment estimating or quoting
- Candidates with experience handling detailed quotes, complex equipment, or made-to-order products will be especially strong fits.
Compensation
- Base salary: $80,000 – $95,000 (based on experience)
- Performance bonus tied to quote conversion and team performance
