Job Title: Low Voltage Installer
Job Description:
The Low Voltage Installer is responsible for assisting with the installation, wiring, and maintenance of low voltage systems, . This role involves running and terminating cables, installing devices like cameras, panels, and switches, and performing basic testing. The technician will work under the supervision of senior technicians and follow safety protocols to ensure all work is completed accurately and to code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull, route, and dress Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling
- Assist with and learn termination and testing of low voltage and fiber systems
- Build out and organize telecom closets and equipment rooms
- Label and document cable installations accurately
- Support installation of CCTV, access control, and wireless systems
- Troubleshoot basic cabling and connectivity issues
- Work from ladders, lifts, and job sites while following safety standards
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of low voltage systems and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with cable types, including Cat5e, Cat6, RG6, and fiber optics.
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and an eagerness to develop technical expertise.
- Must be able to travel in and out of state.
