Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter / Laborer to join Heels and Hammers Construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from framing and trim carpentry to restoration and remodeling. Responsibilities
- Assist in framing, drywall installation, and structural repairs using hand tools and power tools
- Perform trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, and fixture mounting with attention to detail
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute projects
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, caulking, plastering, and painting for finishing work
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry tasks, and roofing projects as needed
- Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols on construction sites
Skills
- Proficiency in City of Chicago Building Codes
- Experience with power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and nail guns
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively
- Knowledge of project planning fundamentals
- Familiarity with various construction disciplines such as framing, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, and electrical experience
- Skilled in drywall finishing, plastering, water damage restoration, mold remediation
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety standards

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
