The ideal candidate is independent, safety focused, and loves to be on the go. This position drives a box truck, delivers materials, picks up orders from vendors, transports tools, and helps in our Sheet Metal Fabrication shop between deliveries. When assisting in the shop, the individual reads blueprints, operates cutting equipment, and may operate a forklift. This role assists with the tools, shipping, and receiving function.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operates a box truck for deliveries and pick up of materials, equipment, and / or tools.
- Loads truck for delivery to construction job sites and when picking up orders from vendors.
- Transports tools to and from job sites, the Sheet Metal shop, and the company warehouse.
- When between truck deliveries, works as a Sheet Metal Fabricator under the leadership of the Shop Lead to form and knock out sheet metal duct work, fill orders from the field following cut sheets, and operate cutting equipment.
- Tracks tools as part of the delivery process, check-in tools returned from job sites, assembles tools upon request (part carts, gang boxes, etc.), and labels new tools as needed. Is trained on how to back up the Tool Lead within the tool inventory software and is the primary back up when the Tool Lead is unavailable for an extended period of time.
- Always follows safety policies; immediately reports safety incidents.
- Responsible for following the delivery procedures at construction sites as outlined by the site’s General Contractor.
- As part of the Shop team, this individual is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Ensure assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained following preventive maintenance guidelines including the box truck.
- Wear the necessary safety Personal Protective Equipment for each job task and construction site.
- Performs other duties as assigned. These duties may include backing up shipping and receiving function, supporting vehicle clean outs, moving tires, and/or operating a forklift following the appropriate training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months’ related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus, and/or the ability to complete the certification within 14 days from the hire date.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and a post offer, preemployment physical.
- Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders, work independently, learn technical tasks, be part of a team, solve problems, safely operate hand tools, and complete assigned tasks with quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required, typically this position works Monday to Friday 8 hours a day.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Regularly required to sit while driving for long periods.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop when working in the Sheet Metal Fabrication shop.
- Regularly lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds
- Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Exposed to extreme temperatures when working outside.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Able to demonstrate vision abilities required for this job, which includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
