DISTRICT PLUMBER
Attleboro Public Schools
The Plumber will install repair and maintain plumbing systems throughout the district’s ten (10) buildings. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below. The position reports to the Maintenance Foreman and to the district’s Facilities Director.
Essential Functions:

Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, cooling, water, sewer, gas, and drainage systems.

Cuts, bends, threads and fits pipes with adjoining pipe assemblies.

Caulks leaks and opens clogged drains.
-
Installs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and related plumbing fixtures.

Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.

Estimates time and material costs on plumbing projects. Requisitions for new plumbing supplies and equipment.

May replace tile, re-plaster or paint walls through which holes have been broken to gain access to plumbing.

Document all work in the CMMS system, Keystone.

Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

Complies with all district safety and risk management policies and procedures.

Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

Is proficient in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Experience/Knowledge:
-
High School diploma or GED
-
Four (4) or more years of commercial plumbing experience
-
Plumbing/Pipe Fitting License
Working Conditions:
Generally, in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and events.
Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as need
dictates. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Wears protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
Salary per Attleboro School Department Building Trades Maintenance Mechanics’ Association Collective Bargaining Agreement - Salary Range: $42.31 - $46.28 per hour
