West Coast Wiring & Automation is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Project Manager specializing in high-end custom residential construction.
This position is NOT for commercial, TI, or multifamily project managers.
Only candidates with high-end custom residential electrical experience will be considered.
This is a field-driven role, not a desk-based project management position and may require some field work. You will oversee electrical installations on custom homes from rough through finish, ensuring quality, coordination, and execution align with high-end client expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing (Duties)
- Manage multiple custom residential projects in the field
- Coordinate directly with:
- General contractors
- Superintendents
- Homeowners
- Designers & lighting consultants
- Oversee installation of:
- Lighting systems & custom layouts
- Lighting control systems (Lutron, Vantage, Control4 etc.)
- Panels, branch circuits, and specialty systems
- Interpret plans and adjust based on real-world conditions
- Handle field-driven problem solving and decision-making
- Create and manage change orders (REQUIRED skill)
- Ensure crews stay on schedule and maintain quality standards
- Perform job walks and site visits daily
- Coordinate with office for:
- Purchase orders
- Scheduling
- Job costing updates
Requirements
- 6+ years experience in custom residential electrical (REQUIRED)
- Must have experience managing custom homes from rough to finish
- Must be able to read plans AND adapt in the field without constant direction
- Strong knowledge of:
- High-end residential wiring methods
- Lighting layouts and fixture coordination
- Lighting control systems (Lutron, Vantage, etc.)
- Ability to write and price change orders accurately
- Experience working directly with GCs and homeowners
- Ability to read and interpret plans and adapt in the field
- Familiar with project management software (Sage experience a plus)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Commercial-only experience will not be considered
Work Environment
- Primarily field-based across multiple job sites
- Travel between job sites and office required
