Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Sheet Metal HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair with expertise in working with sheet metal components. This is a full-time, hands-on position for a reliable technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality work and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Fabrication: Fabricate and install sheet metal ducts, venting systems, and custom HVAC components based on project specifications.
- HVAC System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively.
- Ductwork Design: Assist in designing ductwork systems for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, ensuring optimal airflow and system performance.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation units, and resolve problems efficiently.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with customers regarding HVAC system needs, recommendations, and repair updates.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on jobs for invoicing and reporting purposes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other HVAC technicians, project managers, and apprentices to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Qualifications:
- Licensing/Certification: Must have a valid Mass of experience in HVAC sheet metal installation, fabrication, and repair.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of sheet metal tools, bending machines, welding equipment, and HVAC diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork design, local building codes, and safety standards.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in tight spaces, and stand for long periods. Must be comfortable working at heights or in confined areas.
- Customer Service: Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with commercial and residential HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC systems and green technologies.
- Ability to mentor and train junior technicians or apprentices.
