Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Service Technician specializing in residential systems, walk-in coolers, and rooftop units. This role goes beyond routine service work — it offers the opportunity to help develop and grow a dedicated HVAC division within an established service company.

In this position, you will provide expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services while helping shape how our HVAC operations are built, organized, and delivered. Duties

Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
Service and maintain walk-in coolers, freezers, and commercial refrigeration systems.
Troubleshoot rooftop HVAC units and related mechanical systems.
Read schematics, technical manuals, and design plans to identify and resolve system issues.
Install new HVAC and refrigeration equipment in compliance with safety and industry standards.
Help establish procedures, standards, and best practices for HVAC service operations.
Perform light plumbing related to HVAC systems such as condensate drains and refrigerant piping.
Use diagnostic tools (ohmmeters, gauges, meters) to test electrical and mechanical components.
Maintain accurate service records including repairs, parts used, and system performance.
Ensure all work meets safety regulations and company quality standards.

Experience

Proven experience as an HVAC/R Service Technician with residential and commercial systems.
Michigan HVAC license or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret HVAC schematics and technical drawings.
Experience with refrigeration systems and rooftop units is highly desirable.
Mechanical aptitude including repair, fabrication, or welding when required.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
