Fabricator III – 1st Shift
Shaw Industries is seeking a skilled Fabricator III to build precision components and custom machinery parts using advanced fabrication, welding, and machining techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate parts and assemblies to print and tolerance requirements
- Read, interpret, and create mechanical drawings
- Operate manual and CNC fabrication equipment, including press brakes and shop machinery
- Perform MIG and TIG welding (steel and aluminum), plasma cutting, and oxy-fuel cutting
- Design and build custom jigs and fixtures
- Perform material handling using cranes, hoists, and lift trucks
- Plan and complete fabrication jobs from start to finish
- Maintain equipment and ensure quality workmanship
- Train and mentor junior fabricators as needed
Requirements
- 2‑year technical diploma with 2 years of fabrication experience OR 3–4 years of fabrication experience
- Ability to weld and fabricate within tight tolerances (±1/32" layout, ±1/16" fabrication)
- Experience with shop math, blueprints, and material selection
- Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must provide basic personal hand tools
Preferred (Not Required)
- CNC plasma or press brake training
- Welding certifications (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW)
Work Environment
- Physical role requiring lifting up to 50 lbs
- Standing, bending, and working on feet up to 8 hours per day
- Overtime and limited travel (up to 10%) may be required
Pay: $27.84 per hour
