We're seeking a well-rounded maintenance professional who is dependable, resourceful, and takes pride in solving problems. The ideal candidate will have experience performing a wide variety of repairs and maintenance tasks while understanding when specialized work should be referred to a licensed contractor.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 3 years of experience in handyman services, maintenance, construction, property management, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with a variety of maintenance and repair work, including carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building upkeep.
- Experience troubleshooting repairs with good judgment on when to escalate to a licensed professional.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose maintenance issues, implement practical solutions, and recognize when specialized expertise or a licensed contractor is required.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify maintenance concerns before they become larger problems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects across different properties.
- Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with homeowners, guests, tenants, vendors, and fellow team members.
- A professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to use everyday technology tools for communication, work orders, and documenting repairs.
- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Experience conducting thorough walk-through inspections of homes to identify defects, incomplete work, or items requiring attention prior to or following guests.
- Ability to accurately document inspection findings, create detailed work orders, and track items through to resolution in a timely manner.
- Ability to differentiate between normal wear-and-tear and guest-caused damage, and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
- Comfort working from punch lists, warranty work orders, and inspection checklists to ensure no items are overlooked.
