Compensation: $45.00 to $70.00 per hour, plus overtime
Job Overview
Our client, a national, premier operations & maintenance (O&M) and asset management company focused on C&I solar, battery energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging system, is looking to bring on an experienced Solar Service Technician to join a team that focuses commercial service projects across the Baltimore area. This is a full-time role with our client.
Job Responsibilities
- Completing electrical and mechanical inspections and maintenance
- Prepare reports for site visits, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure project sites are operating at full capacity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless transition to O&M.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient resolution of all site maintenance activities.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols.
- Perform site and system assessments and QA/QC inspections
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Technical certification/training; an electrical license and NABCEP certification are highly preferred.
- A valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- 2+ years of experience installing/maintaining commercial-scale solar and battery storage systems.
- 4+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Experience with equipment and instruments used for commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical and IT-related systems, including (but not limited to): digital multimeters, ammeters, voltmeters, megohmmeters, curve tracers, infrared imaging tools, and digital thermometers
- Experience with centralized DAS/SCADA/EMS control systems.
- Working knowledge of Commercial Power Plant Operations.
- An ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of NEC and local building codes and OSHA safety standards; an OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- An ability to troubleshoot system failures.
- An ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops.
- An ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
