Role: O&M Solar Field Technician

Location: Vermont

Salary Range: $35hr -$50hr

With a strong commitment to clean energy goals, this organization manages a specialized fleet of C&I rooftop and Distributed Generation ground-mounted projects. They are seeking a Solar Field Technician to join their team in Vermont to serve as the primary technical lead for their local portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for the full-scope operations and maintenance of both rooftop C&I installations and community-scale ground mounts throughout the state. Operating with total independence, you will perform preventative maintenance, complex troubleshooting, and performance diagnostics solo, ensuring that every asset in your territory is performing at peak efficiency without the need for daily site supervision.

The ideal candidate should have the following

Several years of dedicated professional experience in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of C&I, DG, or utility-scale solar projects
A proven ability to work independently in the field and manage a regional portfolio solo with minimal oversight
Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of solar components including string and central inverters
Technical proficiency in both rooftop C&I installations and ground-mounted DG project configurations
A solid understanding of electrical safety protocols including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and NFPA 70E standards
Experience performing preventative maintenance tasks such as IV curve tracing, thermal imaging, and insulation resistance testing
The ability to interpret electrical schematics and as-built drawings to diagnose system underperformance
Strong communication skills for providing detailed field reports and coordinating with remote asset management teams
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly to various project sites across Vermont
A current Vermont electrical license (Journeyman or Master) is considered a significant advantage

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
