Fabrication Associate
Location: Groveport, OH
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (9‑month duration)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Lunch: 30‑minute unpaid lunch
Overtime: Possible; occasional Saturdays
Environment: Non-climate-controlled (can get very hot)

Job Overview

The Fabrication Associate supports daily pipe fabrication operations in a fast‑paced industrial environment. This role involves working with machinery, cutting and threading pipe, and handling materials throughout the shop and yard.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment, operating fabrication equipment, and performing physical tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Must‑Haves

6–8 months of recent machinery experience, including:
Band saws
Automatic welding machines
6+ months of mechanical or industrial experience
Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure
Experience using gauges for quality checks
6 months of Combilift experience

Responsibilities

Move loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard
Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintain organized supplies
Follow all safety procedures for fabrication, cutting, stacking, and shipping pipe
Operate powered industrial equipment in compliance with OSHA and company standards
Set up and maintain fabrication machinery
Measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths accurately
Cut pipe using band saws or torches
Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines
Inspect and assist with maintenance of forklift equipment

Qualifications

Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong math skills for product measurement and calculations
Knowledge of safe work practices in a pipe yard environment
Experience with pipe fabrication machinery (training provided if needed)
Strong attention to detail and results‑driven mindset
Basic computer skills for automated machinery

Preferred Experience

Experience with equipment such as:
Pipe threaders
Roll groove machines
Plasma cutting equipment
Pneumatic banders
Ability to handle pipe sizes ranging from ½” to 10.”
Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication

Additional Considerations

Candidates with backgrounds in:

Auto mechanics
Machinery maintenance
Automotive production
Diesel equipment
Farm equipment
