Maintenance Technician Core Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Position is responsible for maintaining building and production equipment in good working order while keeping production downtime due to maintenance at a minimum.
The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, maintenance systems and protocols to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance, service and repairs.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform a variety of facility/building functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to performing duties.
- Maintain spare parts on hand for critical jobs, after completing repairs and to maintain inventory.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Perform plant maintenance as directed by Supervisor.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronics and PLC controls.
- Work closely with management and hourly personnel.
- Ability to communicate and write technical summaries of work done.
- Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and make recommendations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workplace according to the principals of 5S.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and their applications.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work in a safe and consistent manner.
Minimum Required Skills Experience and Education:
- High school diploma/GED
- Completion of one of the following: a craft apprenticeship, field related trade certification, or 2 year or higher technical degree
- Work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Certified electrician is a plus
- Certified hydraulics, HVAC/refrigeration or mechanical tech is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
