Duties
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal components with precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication according to specifications.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to inspect parts for accuracy and quality.
- Set up and operate tooling such as stamping presses, press brakes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment to form and finish metal parts.
- Perform welding using various techniques to join sheet metal components securely while maintaining structural integrity.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment by operating cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery following safety protocols; perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environments with hands-on operation of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints accurately and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Proficiency in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
- Experience with fabrication equipment (press brakes, shears, lasers, CNC, etc.)
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, cranes, stamping presses, and press brake machines safely.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including tooling setup, assembly procedures, and quality control standards.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards; ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
