Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, high-performing HVAC Field Technician to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, service, repair, and install commercial and residential split-system electric units, heating systems, and specialized equipment. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and service electrical, mechanical, and airflow issues on split systems, heat pumps, and light commercial packages.
- Installations & Upfits: Execute top-tier system installations and modifications, ensuring all ductwork, piping, and wiring meet local codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintenance & Testing: Perform rigorous system checkouts, including evacuation tracking, superheat/subcooling charging metrics, and static pressure testing.
- Tech-Driven Reporting: Utilize company-provided digital tools and tablets to document system diagnostics, equipment data, and job-site recommendations clearly before leaving the field.
- Customer Advisory: Clearly explain complex system diagnostics and repair choices to property managers and homeowners, providing transparent options.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on field experience in HVAC service, diagnostics, and installation.
- Certifications: EPA Universal Certification required. NATE or state-level journeyman/contractor licensing is a major plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of electrical schematics, refrigerant piping, diagnostic equipment (psychrometers, digital manifolds, thermal tools), and split-system electric unit parameters.
- Equipment: Must possess a complete set of personal hand tools and diagnostic instruments suitable for everyday trade operations.
- Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving history.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and comfortably navigate crawl spaces, attics, and rooftops.
