Our manufacturing plant is seeking a dependable and precise progressive Die Setter/Operator. In this role, you will set up presses that range in size and choose the appropriate fixtures for each job. You will also load coils of sheet metal onto the presses and help with the actual operation of the metal stamping equipment if necessary. We expect all items to be completed accurately and consistently, so you will also conduct quality assurance tests using precision measuring tools. All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Duties and Responsibilities

Set presses and fixtures
Load coils of sheet metal onto the presses
Load stamping dies onto the presses
Inspect products for quality assurance
Use precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers, to ensure products are made to specification
Troubleshoot issues with equipment
Assist operators as needed
Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Responsibilities:

Ensure that all dies are pre-staged at the press and that all dies are set properly.
Shut down all jobs at the end of run and return the dies to the proper storage location.
Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, oiling, and lubricating machines.
Work closely with Tool Room by providing information needed by toolmakers to accurately diagnose and repair dies.
Set up and operate presses that may be mechanically, or computer driven to produce parts.
Check machine operation and report faults to the supervisor.
Demonstrate ability to require minimal supervision, technical and maintenance support.
Assist in equipment maintenance as directed.
Make Supervisor and/or Plant Manager aware of safety issues and concerns.
Perform general housekeeping duties as directed.
Perform duties as directed by Supervisor/Plant Manager.
Dispose of scrap material as directed. Authorization to scrap material must be approved by Supervisor.
Make Supervisor and/or Plant Manger aware of non-conformance in product.

Requirements:

Must be able to work overtime
Pass a Drug Screen and have a Favorable Background
Able to handle a fast-paced environment
A self-starter and motivated to work
