Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and troubleshoot commercial HVAC systems according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications.
- Connect mechanical systems with plumbing and electrical components, ensuring proper operation of refrigeration units, building automation systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to accurately install equipment and diagnose issues during the installation process.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as welding, equipment repair, boiler servicing, and mechanical systems repair to ensure optimal system performance.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; troubleshoot electrical issues related to HVAC/R systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants; handle ammonia refrigeration systems safely.
- Operate a driver vehicle for transporting materials and equipment to job sites; maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
- Collaborate with team members on building automation systems integration and property maintenance projects.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to repair or replace faulty components; perform welding or other fabrication tasks as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of installation procedures, service reports, and safety inspections to ensure quality control.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems installation.
- Service technician experience in HVAC or refrigeration preferred; familiarity with HVAC/R equipment is highly valued.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to building automation systems and property maintenance is desirable.
- Certification in EPA regulations for refrigerant handling required; additional certifications such as HVAC license or boiler license are advantageous.
- Experience with equipment repair, welding techniques, boiler servicing, and mechanical systems repair preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $28.49 - $34.31 per hour
