Duties
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct welding repairs utilizing MIG welding, automotive welding equipment, and soldering techniques to restore structural integrity.
- Fabricate custom parts or repair sections using fabrication repair techniques and sheet metal skills.
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding surfaces with sanding tools and applying auto paint using airless paint spraying equipment.
- Replace auto glass and perform auto glass installation with precision to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Assist in auto restoration projects by applying detailed fabrication, sanding, assembly, and finishing techniques.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as minor mechanical repairs, auto estimating, and general automotive repair to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a dealership environment with hands-on auto body repair expertise.
- Proficiency with MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and automotive welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with auto painting processes including auto painting and airless paint spraying methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of auto restoration processes and fabrication repair techniques is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills paired with the ability to communicate clearly about repair processes and estimates.
