Master or Journeyman Electrician – Renewable Energy | Maine
Sundog Solar is looking for a skilled, motivated Master or Journeyman Electrician who wants more than just another construction job.
We're a locally owned renewable energy company with a 35-person team that has been designing and installing solar energy systems across Maine since 2009. Our work includes residential and commercial solar, off-grid systems, battery storage, heat pumps, and EV charging infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Master or Journeyman Electrician at Sundog Solar, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality renewable energy installations throughout Maine.
Projects include:
- Residential rooftop solar
- Commercial solar installations
- Ground mount arrays
- Off-grid and battery backup systems
- Heat pump installations
- EV charging systems
Responsibilities include:
- Installing and commissioning solar electrical systems
- Wiring inverters, disconnects, combiner panels, batteries, and service equipment
- Running conduit and performing wire sizing/layouts
- Reviewing plans for NEC compliance and best practices
- Assisting with inspections, permitting, and utility interconnections
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field
- Supporting apprentices and helping develop crew skills
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and professional job site

What We're Looking For
Required:
- Current Maine resident
- Maine Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Strong working knowledge of NEC
- Construction and field experience
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work on roofs, ladders, and outdoor job sites year-round
- Ability to lift 60 lbs and work in physically active environments
Ideal Experience:
- Solar PV installation experience
- Battery storage or generator integration
- Conduit bending and service work
- Commercial electrical systems
- OSHA 10
- NABCEP certification
