Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Marine Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing powerboats both inboard and outboards and some sail boats gas and diesel. You will perform skilled mechanical and electrical repairs on marine engines and various systems. Duties
- Diagnose and repair marine engines, propulsion systems, and mechanical components using schematics, technical drawings, and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting on ship electrical systems, including wiring, schematics interpretation, and electrical diagnostics.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on water transportation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments for assembly, fabrication, and repairs.
- Assist with rigging tasks and the installation of mechanical systems while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot engineering issues accurately; perform repairs involving sheet metal work and welding as needed.
- Support maintenance operations by lifting heavy components safely and managing parts inventory for maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO).
Requirements
- Proven service technician experience with a strong background in marine or vehicle maintenance; gas or diesel mechanics experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ship electrical systems maintenance, electrical diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and marine electrical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, mechanical systems repair, water transportation equipment maintenance, and fabrication skills.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), calipers, ohmmeters, and other precision instruments.
- Prior military experience or background in engineering troubleshooting is a plus; excellent customer service skills are essential for effective communication with team members and clients.
- Commitment to safety through proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities; capable of heavy lifting when required.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair & operations.
