Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems. They should be committed to ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and test fire alarm systems, ensuring they meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Diagnose and repair system malfunctions, including wiring issues and hardware failures.
- Work with control panels, devices, and components, including smoke detectors, pull stations, and alarms.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes and safety regulations.
- Provide clear documentation of work performed, including inspection and service reports.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain system functions, maintenance schedules, and any required repairs.
- Collaborate with other technicians, contractors, and project managers on larger installations or upgrades.
- Stay updated on advancements in fire alarm technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems, including various brands and models.
- Familiarity with fire codes (e.g., NFPA) and local regulations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NICET certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience with low-voltage electrical systems.
- OSHA safety certification or related training.
