Quality Inspector – Manufacturing

Full-Time | $23.00 - $25.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Savvy Staffing Solutions is seeking a Quality Inspector for a leading manufacturing and fabrication company in the Sturbridge, MA area. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented quality professional who takes pride in ensuring products meet strict engineering and customer specifications.
The Quality Inspector will serve as a key part of the manufacturing process by performing inspections, documenting results, identifying quality issues, and working closely with production teams to maintain the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on fabricated parts, machined components, and assemblies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Utilize precision measuring equipment including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Bore gauges
- Thread gauges and other inspection tools
- Document inspection results in the Quality Management System (QMS) and maintain accurate inspection records
- Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials or products
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues
- Work closely with manufacturing, fabrication, and engineering teams to troubleshoot production concerns
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and handled correctly
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve product quality and manufacturing processes
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing, machining, or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify deviations from specifications
- Ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records
- Basic computer skills and experience with ERP/MRP or digital quality systems preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with production teams and explain quality requirements
Preferred Experience:
- Aerospace, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing experience
- Experience with fabrication, welding, machining, or sheet metal components
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and inspection procedures
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
