Commercial Roofing Foreman Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Foreman to lead commercial roofing projects throughout Kentucky. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring extensive commercial roofing knowledge, the ability to manage crews, and the technical expertise to oversee high-quality installations, repairs, and restoration projects. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who can maintain a safe, productive jobsite while delivering exceptional workmanship.
This position requires travel throughout Kentucky. During the work week, employees will stay near the project location and return home as schedules allow.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise commercial roofing crews on installation, repair, restoration, and replacement projects.
- Plan and coordinate daily jobsite activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to company quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Direct crews installing and repairing commercial roofing systems, including PVC, EPDM, and Modified Bitumen (Mod-Bit) roofing systems.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, and deliveries to keep projects running smoothly.
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA regulations, fall protection requirements, ladder safety, and proper equipment use.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate project progress with project managers and customers.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive commercial roofing experience is required. Residential-only roofing experience will not be considered.
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising commercial roofing crews.
- Expert knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including:
- PVC
- EPDM
- Modified Bitumen (Mod-Bit)
- Strong understanding of commercial roofing installation methods, repairs, troubleshooting, and manufacturer specifications.
- Ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and commercial roofing safety practices.
- Experience operating roofing tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work safely at heights in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel throughout Kentucky and stay near project sites during the work week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with metal roofing, sheet metal fabrication, siding, waterproofing, roof restoration, and roof coatings.
- Experience training and developing roofing crews.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
- CDL or equipment operation experience is a plus.
