Kodiak Construction Talent Solutions is seeking a Commercial HVAC Installation & Commissioning Technician to support one of the region's premier commercial mechanical contractors. You'll work on challenging commercial HVAC projects from installation through startup while expanding your technical knowledge and advancing your career.
Whether you're commissioning new systems, troubleshooting equipment, or mentoring apprentices, you'll be part of a team that values craftsmanship, safety, and technical excellence.
What You Will Do
- Install, replace, and retrofit commercial HVAC equipment and mechanical systems
- Perform startup, commissioning, testing, and operational verification
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues
- Install and service DX systems (up to 50 tons)
- Install water-source heat pumps, fan coil units, unit heaters, ductless split systems, and associated HVAC equipment
- Perform tenant improvement work including equipment replacements, ductwork modifications, thermostat relocations, and mechanical upgrades
- Complete commissioning reports and startup documentation
- Train building owners, facility personnel, apprentices, and junior technicians
- Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional communication and technical expertise
- Maintain service vehicle, inventory, tools, and documentation
What We Are Seeking
- Minimum three years of commercial HVAC installation and/or service experience
- EPA Universal Certification
- HVAC Journeyman License (Master License preferred)
- Startup and commissioning experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of BOCA Building Codes and OSHA safety regulations
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
