Position Summary
The Mid-Shift Maintenance Technician is a skilled, Detail-oriented professional who operates with autonomy and precision to keep our property in flawless condition. Working across both French Quarter Inn and our adjacent sister property, The Spectator Hotel (managed by Charlestowne Hotels), you will execute routine maintenance, rapid-response repairs, and preventative upkeep while maintaining strict health, safety, and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine & Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs) across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
- Systems Upkeep: Basic troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems (lighting fixtures, switches, outlets) and plumbing components (filters, coils, clear drains, fix leaks, unclog sinks/toilets).
- General Repairs: Perform general manual repairs including hardware maintenance, door locks, window fixtures, dry wall touch-ups, and furniture adjustments.
- Request Management: Promptly log, track, and resolve guest and staff service calls via the ALICE operational platform.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to local health, safety, and building codes to safeguard guests, team members, and property assets.
- Dual-Property Support: Assist with mid-shift coverage, urgent calls, and facility needs at both French Quarter Inn and The Spectator Hotel as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of facilities maintenance or handyman experience (boutique hotel or luxury residential background preferred).
- Proven mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry practices.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate digital work-order platforms (experience with ALICE is a plus).
- Ability to work mid-shift hours autonomously, prioritize urgent requests, and handle physical duties (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, climbing ladders).
- Strong interpersonal skills for brief, polite interactions with guests when entering rooms or working in public spaces.
