Position Summary:
Soufflé is seeking a Senior Director, Facilities to own real estate strategy, lab and space planning, and safe, efficient operations across our growing Watertown and Dresden footprint. As we add a new floor and plan for continued growth beyond 2027, this leader will build the systems, processes, and safety culture needed to scale — partnering closely with functional leads across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own strategy, implementation, and performance across Soufflé's real estate, including both lab and office operations, safety, and security
- Lead lab and space planning, including capital projects, to support the company's growth
- Engage key stakeholders to implement and integrate systems and processes for efficient, safe lab operations
- Build a strong safety and quality culture
- Act as a hands-on team player in a highly integrative role, mentoring direct reports
What Success Looks Like
- In 3 months: Actively leading space expansion discussions and planning
- In 6 months: Lab and office expansions managed to schedule, with key systems and processes rolled out
- In 12 months: Strategy defined for the next stage of growth
Qualifications — Required
- 10+ years of facilities/lab operations leadership experience, including 4+ years in a similar lead role
- Experience at 150-400+ employee stage companies with chemistry, biology lab, and vivarium environments
- Experience in Biotech and/or pharma
- Hands-on leadership style; leads by example and engages stakeholders effectively through new systems and process roll-outs
Qualifications — Preferred
- Experience in construction project management and permitting; strong knowledge of HVAC, utilities, and biologics/chemical production facility requirements;
- Experience across multiple/international sites
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus
