Assistant Production Manager – Manufacturing

Day-O-Lite is looking for a hands-on Assistant Production Manager to work alongside our Manufacturing Manager and help lead our sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. If you know sheet metal fabrication, believe in Lean Manufacturing, and enjoy improving how things get made, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Help lead daily sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing operations
- Coordinate production schedules, staffing, materials, and priorities to meet customer deadlines
- Lead and support employees while driving safety, quality, productivity, and accountability
- Identify bottlenecks and resolve production, quality, equipment, and material issues
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement
- Improve production workflows, SOPs, material flow, and shop-floor organization
- Monitor production performance and implement measurable improvements
- Support employee training, cross-training, and development
What We're Looking For
- Sheet metal fabrication experience – REQUIRED
- Lean Manufacturing experience – REQUIRED
- 5+ years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Production leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication equipment, processes, and workflow
- Experience with CNC equipment, ERP/MRP systems, inventory, and production scheduling is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on, take-ownership mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
